Michelle was born in Pembrokeshire and has practised as an artist for over 25 years. She now lives in Shropshire.

Working primarily in oils and occasionally watercolour, she draws upon her surroundings as an infinite well of inspiration. Her often ‘quiet’ paintings reflect a sensitive and personal vision of the language of her surroundings, the subtleties, vagaries and quirks captured in a painterly, yet structured way.

“Small paintings or drawings done from the subject are often a starting point for paintings which will evolve over time in an attempt to evoke the experience and presence of the subject remembered. The process often involves scraping back and overpainting until I am satisfied that a conclusion seems to have been reached ”
